Hello and welcome!
My name is Alex and I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) who has experience working with people from all walks of life.
Therapy is a powerful tool that can be personalised to help you achieve the best version of yourself you want to be. I believe in a holistic approach in my practice, using different therapeutic methods to guide clients to identify and work through difficult thoughts, patterns and behaviours they may want to explore.
My training and experience in cultural/diversity sensitivity has allowed me to work with clients from a range of different backgrounds, and I pride myself on my ability to connect with a diverse range of people regardless of ethnicity, age, socioeconomic background, sexual orientation or gender identification.
Being a member of the BAME community who is of mixed ethnicity allows me to draw from a unique and inclusive upbringing using my experience of growing up in a multi-cultural society to understand my clients individual experience and work with how that impacts how they view themselves.
Cultural and ethnic backgrounds are important to understand because they affect our experience of the world and society. My experience of society as a mixed race individual better equips me to be aware of specific issues facing people of colour as well as individuals who come from all other different ethnic backgrounds.
I welcome individuals who identify as BAME in addition to the many other communities that populate London and believe we can work together replacing judgement and prejudice with openness and understanding.
I have extensive experience working with people who are interested in exploring their identity and focusing on how they view themselves and their place in society.
I often work with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma and relationship difficulties, as well as those experiencing cultural conflicts.
As a registered member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy, I adhere to the BACP’s ethical framework in all my work.
The approach to my practice is integrative which allows me to draw from various therapeutic modalities to tailor therapy to your individual and unique needs. Some modalities I utilise include Psychodynamic, Mindfulness, Person Centred, and elements of Existentialism.
Please feel free to get in touch to learn more about me or ask any questions you may have.
